Bug fixes
Version 2.0 (Build 500) - 12.03.2004

- New ACARS Device (Gauge works with FS2002 or FS2004) to display Logs, Status, Weather conditions and much more directly on your aircraft panel
-
Added support for the new FS2004 AFD format (cache file 'AFDCache2004.dat')
-
New optional FS Support/Core Module 'FSFKCore.dll' that adds a new menu under the FS menu 'Flights'
- ActiveSky 2004 support (online or offline mode)
- Improved FS Meteo v5.2+ and v6.0+ support
If available, TAFs will now be directly read from FS Meteo. Otherwise they can be downloaded from the configured TAF weather server. If ALOFT support is turned on in FSFK, it will be automatically downloaded. So the overall support is now similar to Weather Center 2 or ActiveSky wxRE.
- Support for FSUIPC's New Weather Interface (NWI) for displaying the requested weather conditions on the ACARS Device (FS2004 only!) [requires FSUIPC v3.0+]
- Added distance display unit 'Statue Miles'
- Current distance flown and total route distance are now transmitted via the Live ACARS service with any waypoint/position report (Tag '/DST')
- Added the parameter planned route distance for the Live ACARS service 'BEGINFLIGHT' method
- Total planned route distance is now also shown on the Flight Editor 'General' tab
- Flight ETA display for the main status bar
Double click on Block Time or Flight Time status panes to switch between the modes
- Over 1200 new Weather Stations added
- New WMO Station config files that contains the full list of stations and all active stations as of February 2004
- Weather Stations (with METARs and TAFs) can now be displayed on the World Map
- Current Altitude, GS (IAS for live ACARS traffic) and a Vertical Speed symbol are now displayed on the World Map for all visible aircraft
- Origin and Destination airports are now displayed for the AI (FS2004 only) and live ACARS traffic on the World Map [requires FSUIPC v3.12+]
- AI Traffic displayed on the World Map reaching the TCAS range 3 or 1 are now displayed in different colors for easier traffic identification
- Added some additional islands to the World Map
- Print the current World Map view
- It is now possible to resize the World Map window
- Current select ALOFT level is now displayed on World Map status bar
- Added flight type 'S/VFR'
- Added a new tag 'RouteDistance' for the report/export templates
- New FSFK parameter section in the 'Aircraft.cfg', where one can configure aircraft specific configuration settings (e.g. Flap Display, Pax, Cargo, etc.)
- The current FS2004 AI state and the assigned runway are now shown in the World Map tooltip for any AI traffic [requires FSUIPC v3.12+]
-
FSFK reads now the flight plan via WideFS for a FS2004 connection [requires FSUIPC v3.14+]
This was necessary because flight plans under FS2004 are not stored in a sub folder of the FS main folder, instead they are stored per user under the 'My Documents' folder. This feature requires that the 'My Documents' or the FS flight plan folder is shared over the network.
- Option that allows to turn off the Airport parking limitation
By default FSFK only adds airports with one or more gates. This option allows you to turn it off. But keep in mind that memory usage will be higher and the airport detection might take longer. If you change this option you will need to delete the AFD cache and rebuild it.
-
Added an automatic fix for the very known GMT/Time Zone bug in FS2002 and FS2004
Due to some errors in the time zone configuration in FS2002 and FS2004, FS sometimes changes the GMT/ZULU time instead of the local time (time zone). FSFK will now detect these faulty changes and will automatically correct the recorded times internally. So the logged ZULU times will be correct. It might be that the displayed local times are a bit off, but you will not longer get any error messages when saving a flight in FSFK. Whenever such an event occurs FSFK will add a comment to the flight events log and display a short message within FS.
- New Event 'Warning' that logs critical aircraft changes (e.g. Flap Count, Engine Count/Type, etc.), scenery changes or a change of the ZULU/GMT time
These events are also send via the ACARS service with the message label 'WR'.
Changed
- Updated to FSUIPC V3.20(1)
- 'WeatherStations.cfg' format changed (new fields: Name, Country and Altitude)
- ALOFT decode format slightly changed for easier reading
- The 'New Flight' button is now also available during a flight
- Renamed the menu item 'Clear Scenery Cache' to 'Rebuild Scenery Cache' to avoid any confusion about the purpose of this menu item
- FS Navigator bearing points will now automatically skipped by default
- Pressure changes above the given Transition Altitudes (TA) + 1500ft for the Origin and Destination Airports are now not longer logged and displayed
This has been changed, because under FS2004 one would get unnecessary events (due to the new introduced weather transitions) that are not really needed. During approach FSFK will display the current pressure value, if you reach an altitude below Destination TA + 2000ft. So one can set the correct altimeter setting when reaching the TA. Please keep in mind that it is very important, that the TA values are configured correct prior to taking off from the Origin Airport.
- Renamed the AFD cache file for the FS2002 cache to 'AFDCache2002.dat'
This allows to have two different cache files for FS2002 and FS2004 at the time, so one can easily switch between both FS versions.
- The Database layout has been slightly modified for some feature plans for the next version of FSFK
- Updated METAR/TAF download URLs for the Aviation Digital Data Service provider
Bug fixes
-
Wrong altitudes reported, if the international settings in FS were set to meters
This is actual a small description bug in the FSUIPC SDK, which has been reported to Pete Dowson and FSFK uses now a workaround to fix this bug.
-
Flight distance sometimes not calculated
- Engine starter switches were displayed wrong for all non-jet aircraft
- Visibility was shown in Statue Miles instead of Nautical Miles
Version
1.2 (Build 310) - 01.08.2003
New
- Support for FSUIPC v3.03++ and WideFS v6.02++
This version will now automatically accredit FSFK to use all required
FSUIPC features. So there is no need to register Flight Keeper
by hand.
- FS2004 Flight Plan support

plan into RC3 and setting up the controller info will be enough.

If you download the full installer, you will need

provide a smaller update package (ZIP), which just needs to be extracted
to the main FSFK folder.
Version 1.0 (Build
150) - 19.12.2002
